Why is it worth it?
"Accountability Culture" is an organizational culture where decisions are made based on information rather than hierarchy. In companies where this culture thrives (examples from Poland: Tefal, Sente, ISolution), results improve: teams react swiftly and appropriately to changes; everyone focuses on improvement rather than avoiding mistakes; individuals take ownership of results and the work environment instead of passively waiting for guidance and orders.
"The Taking Accountability Culture" is a response to business complexity and variability that demand quick and accurate decisions. In such a culture, decisions are made based on where information resides, not hierarchically.
"The VR MissioOne simulation concept is based on the real missions of Captain David Marquet, carried out on the Santa Fe vessel.
In 1999, Captain David Marquet unexpectedly assumed command of the nuclear submarine Santa Fe. Within a year, he had to get to know the vessel inside out. Santa Fe had long held a notorious reputation - ranking at the bottom of the fleet. However, within 9 months, they moved to the top position in the ranking! How did they achieve such a spectacular success? They introduced an 'Accountability Culture,' where each of the 140 crew members became a leader in their position, area, or process. Later, Marquet detailed these events in the books 'Turn the Ship Around' and 'Leadership Language'."
